"I can't spend this money! Mark Hamilton from Ash gave me this money! It was in his wallet!"
*pauses for breath*
Man, I've been busy. I don't know if I have a whole paragraph in me about anything, so instead I'll just make a list of Random Ramblings(TM) from the past week or so:
- The Ash show was awesome. Mark The Bassist got me a pair of passes in return for the Star Wars toys (and also paid me back for them), so Kyde drove up from Cincy to go with me since my local friends are boring. They played a lot of songs I was hoping they'd play, though no "Starcrossed". It took me several songs to get over the initial "This is a song I know and really like, and they are playing it right up there" giddiness. This is the first time I've seen them live since their first album, but I hear there's another tour planned for this fall so maybe I can do some more catching up. I Heart Ash.
- Also awesome at the big CD101 Day show: Ben Lee. He was crazy happy fun.
- In the shipment at work today we got a big pile of Gerry Anderson TV show DVDs. Yes, the scary BBC puppet shows that inspired the style of "Team America: World Police". I think the store now has every complete series boxed set of everything he has ever made, including a particularly awesome one that I was not aware of: Secret Service. I couldn't capture the full strangeness of this show without pasting the entire entry. I'll just say it's about a priest who is also a secret agent working for an organization called B.I.S.H.O.P., and also he carries a shrink ray in his Bible.
- I finally bought a small tea kettle a couple weeks ago. It makes my tea very hot and very good, but on the downside if I take it to work in my travel cup in the morning it's not cool enough to drink until I'm at the store.
- I didn't just buy Star Wars toys for hot Irish rock stars, I bought a few for myself, too. Well, just the three Jedi women they've released so far. I have figures of all of them from Episode 2, but I picked up the new ones anyway. My Aayla Secura suffers a little from the ambition of her design: some of her joints are much too loose and some are much too tight. I like the fabric skirts on the other two, though. I think it's gonna hurt the most when Shaak Ti bites it.
- Man, I want me some Cybertron. When does the Cybertron start shipping?
- (Yes, I know, "May". But I want Vector Prime so much it hurts. And maybe Scattershot too. I mean, I want him. I just dunno if I'd commit to saying it hurts in his case yet.)
- In honor of my impressive progress through my literary backlog, I'm going to start posting a little "Currently Reading:" blurb at the end of my posts, a la LiveJournal's "Currently Listening To" add-ons, but as a link because I'm addicted to typing a href=. Like so.
