Tying Up Loose Ends

On Wednesday I'm leaving for Alabama, where I will have no cable and only the most meager access to the internet (not only dial-up, but hourly dial-up) until I return next Monday, and I have school tomorrow morning and work tomorrow evening, so now I'm gonna post a bunch of stuff I want to get in before I'm cut off from civilization entirely. I really should see if my mom can get me the land-line number for their house there so Steve-o and Walky can call if there's any interesting news...

First off, my cat:

Hee hee! She is hiding!

Sometime over the past week or so she turned 18. 18 years ago, for my ninth birthday, I picked her out of the pound as a 4-week-old kitten. I had to leave her with my parents when I moved to Houghton, but when I moved to Columbus I insisted on bringing her with me because it broke my heart to think of her spending her old age being pestered by their dogs, only to finally pass away without me there. Graham was nervous at first to live with such an old cat, but she's in remarkably good health for a cat her age, and while her sight isn't what it was, she has no serious or chronic health problems. I think she's got a couple birthdays in her yet.

Secondly, teh sexy Xevoz:

Heroic!

Rune Slayer has a beefy new friend! Hyper Guardian apparently went back up for order one day when I was off somewhere, and Graham ordered him for me as a surprise. Envy me and my Xevoz!

Thirdly, Master Collectors has put up a much-awaited preview for their Deathsaurus figure. You can probably count the number of people in this fandom who actually really, truly care about Deathsaurus on one hand, and I would be the index finger. I give him an "Eh". The head tries, and it's got the beaky visor bit, but I think there must have been something about the engineering that killed it. The details are there, but the feel is wrong. It's odd, I can accept stuff like Alternators and other reimaginings of the Holy Immortal Early G1 characters, but I like my Victory left just the way it was.

I wanted to be all hip and add a list of what I'm taking to entertain myself in Alabama, but that would be dorky and nobody really cares what I'm reading at any given moment. So maybe I won't. PC Operating Systems will be studied, though. Now that we're into the XP stuff I can get more hands-on practice.

Wish me luck!
